Find info concerning DCCC renewable energy technology, registering in a technical training program, and taking free tests online. Engineering is one of the fastest-growing job areas, and for good reason. As the consumer electronics industry expands, engineers are increasingly in demand. If you major in renewable energy technology, for example, there are a variety of concentrations that may appeal to you such as electrical power engineering, solar cell design, or alternative energy. Check with the department of renewable energy for an updated schedule of classes, registration deadlines, and a list of renewable energy technology requirements. Further, due to advances in engineering techniques, there is a growing shortage of specialists in wind turbine production, and of skilled industrial engineers in general. Please use the form above to request admissions info for DCCC.

The Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) leads public research in innovative solar power technologies. Photovoltaic arrays, or PV for short, harness the sun's power and turn it into electricity. Photovoltaic arrays must be mounted on a stable, durable structure that tilts the PV array at a fixed angle determined by the local latitude. Inverters are used to convert the direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar photovoltaic modules into alternating current (AC). Finally, large batteries allow a recycling program of solar photovoltaic energy when bad weather blocks sunlight from reaching the photovoltaic panels.

An alternative solar power configuration is composed of carbon-rich polymers and can be tailored to enhance a specific function of the solar cell. This technology has the theoretical potential to provide renewable energy at a lower cost than silicon or thin-film recycling programs. Concentration PV, also known as CPV, focuses sunlight onto a solar cell by using a mirror or lens. By focusing sunlight onto a small area, less PV material is required. This technology uses mirrors to reflect and concentrate sunlight onto receivers that collect solar energy and convert it to heat, which can then be used to produce electricity.

Electrical Engineering EECS

Electrical engineers design and test new electrical equipment such as electric motors, communications systems, and power generators. Electronics engineering technicians, on the other hand, work in product evaluation and testing, using measuring and diagnostic equipment. They are also involved in the deployment of new equipment in factory automation. Electrical engineering has several sub-disciplines, including power engineering, software development, and control engineering. Electrical engineers with a bachelors degree earned an average salary of $95,230 in 2015, while engineering technicians with an associates degree earned $61,130 annually.

The field of power engineering deals with the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. These include transformers, electric generators, electric motors, high voltage engineering, and power electronics. Electrical engineers maintain an electrical network called the power grid, that connects a variety of generators using high-voltage transmission lines. Signal processing relates to the analysis and manipulation of signals. Signals can be either analog, in which case the signal varies continuously, or digital, where the signal varies according to a series of discrete values. Control engineering applications range from flight systems of commercial airplanes to industrial automation. Where there is regular feedback, control theory can be used to determine how the system responds.

Technical programs are a low-cost alternative to attending a regular four-year university, and you can earn good money as a highly-skilled, technical specialist. If you remain true to your career interests, via East Carolina University BBA degree programs, your overall job earnings will increase as you gain experience. If you're currently employed, you can take online technical education classes in your free time to advance your career. Massive Open Online Courses are known as MOOCs, utilizing interactive platforms such as Blackboard, and mobile apps. For example, Khan Academy now offers free lecture videos served through YouTube. Then there's Drake University biotechnology, with enrolled students from around the world.

Financial Aid Information

Government scholarships and Pell grant applications, combined with academic scholarships, only account for a third of total college aid. Student loans, work-study earnings, and personal savings make up the remaining two-thirds. The official FAFSA website is fafsa.ed.gov and is free to use. The earliest that the FAFSA form can be filled out is January of a student's senior year. Academic scholarships are highly competitive, and are usually awarded either by the admissions office, or individual academic departments.

Most private loan programs are tied to one or more financial indexes, such as the BBA LIBOR Rate, plus an overhead charge. Financial aid may be administered through the Department of Education or your school's financial aid office. High school grades are the most important factor in gaining admission to the college of your choice, along with letters of recommendation. According to SUNY Stony Brook University marine biology program, an ideal academic record consists of a high GPA in courses of progressive difficulty. Peterson's Scholarship Search Award Database is drawn from Peterson's college guidebooks. Trade unions may offer scholarships for union members and their dependent children.

Engineering Jobs

As the economy improves, many engineering firms are beginning to hire additional personnel. Whether you already work in engineering services, or are a recent college graduate, this may be a good time to seek a new position. The Fundamentals of Engineering exam should be taken immediately after earning a bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited program. Engineer interns can attempt a second certifying exam, called the Principles and Practice of Engineering Exam. Thereafter, acquisition of a professional engineering license enables management of junior engineers, the ability to sign off on engineering projects, and provide services directly to the public. Finding out about Radford University language centre, on the other hand, may broaden your resume in order to appeal to a wider variety of employers.

Hiring managers typically post new jobs on targeted job sites, which we have sampled. Newman University hotel management classes information may be available through the human resources department. Aside from a good salary, many technical education programs include excellent benefits, as well as retirement plans. The Department of Commerce offers starting salary data though the Occupational Outlook Handbook.
